Asa Hodges Chancery Suit, 1853

Chancery Suits
Asa and Martha had three children: John D., Matilda Jenette, and Melvina. Asa was dead by 9 Nov 1834, when Martha married Henry H. Terry. The estate proceedings of Asa Hodges show that his children were Melvina, Matilda, and J.D. (or John D.), although John D. appears to have been dead by about 1853. Samuel N. Reeves and Melvina his wife and John W. Bean and Matilda his wife brought a cancery suit in Lawrence County, Alabama against Drury Stovall, executor of Asa's estate. (Bob Hodges)
