ROBERT "MITCHELL" FOSTER, JR. & NANCY ANN HARMON FOSTER:
(from "The Dean Family," by Gloria Borgsmiller & Lucy Kehmeier)

Robert "Mitchell" Foster, Jr. was born in 1813; died in 1889. Nancy Ann Harmon (b Nov 6, 1811; d Feb 12, 1883). Nancy's parents were William Allison Harmon (1738- 1818) and Mary Lucinda "Lucy" Thompson (1742-1823).

Mitchell and Nancy Ann Harmon Foster and 5 of their children came to AR. in 1849-1850 from Monroe, IL. They had 3 children born in AR. Perry was 7 when they moved to AR. Robert, Perry and Fount were in the Civil War. After the Civil War Mitchell moved to a house on his son Perry's farm. This was a log house where DeanVansandt's house now stands. A few years later, Mitchell bought a farm 1 1/2 miles northwest of here. In 1883 Nancy died. Mitchell made his home with his sons Perry and Green. Mitchell died in 1889. They are both buried at Twelve Corners Cemetery; however, there is no tombstone for him, just Nancy, but he might be in an unmarked space on the other side of Nancy that has no marker.
