Grandpa Hey, 1952
Grandma, Sue, Carmel (Ira's wife), and Clarice (Carmel's daughter) took a trip to Monterey, Mexico and returned through Galveston and New Orleans. Jan was in 9th grade and didn't want to miss school for the trip. Grandma wrote Grandpa an interesting letter about their time in Monterey. They came back through Galveston, Texas and stayed at the Jack Tar Hotel for $6. Grandma tells about troubles wiring money. Grandma tells about driving through New Orleans, hitting a pot hole, having to buy a new battery and cable for $12.65, and eating at Cafe of the Two Sisters in the French Quarter.
