Mobile Home
#128 Rockvale
July, 1974 - July, 1979

To save money for a house, we bought a repossessed mobile home, a 14' x 70' 1973 Marshfield Capri: $13,000 new, bought it for $10,000. Lived in for only 3 weeks and spotless.

One night Mom and Dad and the girls arrived from Florida. As usual, right away mom was on the phone to Aunt Darlene and Uncle Ron arranging some get together. Soon we heard mom say sort of sheepishly, "Oh. It is?" It was 2:00 a.m.

We loved our mobile home. So efficient and low maintenance. When we moved to Walnut Street in 1979, we hated to leave. Knew we'd have more work. Thought we'd miss our mobile home, and we did.

Didn't know how much we'd appreciate them,

Ready to Ride
Several times on a Saturday, the 3 of us rode our bikes over to Brodhead, picked up the Sugar River Trial, rode to New Glarus for an ice cream cone, and back. 95 miles round trip. Once we rode to Madison (because I made a wrong turn) on our way to see John and Cheryl in Sun Prairie, ate lunch, and rode back. 112 miles. We were exhausted. Dinner at iHop in Beloit. Wow did they ever taste great.
