Mom and Dad Vegter took the clan out to eat in Lake Mills to celebrate our anniversary. Wonderful evening anyway, but Jared made it memorable. Of a sudden, out of nowhere, Jared flung a whip cream pie in Jerry's face. Jared had talked the waitress into the prop. It was payback for roughly 10 years earlier, when at age 3 or 4, Jared had been the victim of Jerry's prank: talking the little boy into placing the whip cream can tip into his mouth and releasing the whip. As Jerry discovered, Jared has a very long memory. Jerry remarked, "I'm glad it's over. I always knew it was coming."
