Mocha Moment:
Grand Opening
January 13, 2003

For a lengthier history, read the The Mocha Moment Story. On this page, we'll sketch just enough to make sense of the photos. We first saw 1121 Center Avenue on June 9, 2002. We demolished the house, built Mocha Moment, and opened on January 13, 2003. 7 months. Not bad. Not bad at all.

Kathy and I have hung out on Saturday nights at the Butterfly for decades. We are friends with one of the bands, Phil and the VIP's. They entertained for our open house on Sunday, the evening before opening.

Open House:
Lots of friends and family.

Susan

Priceless support from Kathy's family. Susan had restaurant experience (Bartley's BBQ, Dallas); we had none. Invaluable help in organization. Carol and Sharon traveled north from Florida in the frigid winter. Stayed a week. And it was cold that week. Carol came every morning to organize and help.
