Living just a mile from Grandma & Grandpa Hey, we generally visited once a week. Always fun: Grandma had a TV; we didn't. So we watched Hogan's Heroes, Gomer Pyle, Get Smart, or Mission Impossible. Sometimes Grandma played the organ, or she played the organ and dad sang.

The fascinating fireplace with the trap door for ashes that drop down into a chute to be collected and hauled out form the basement. On a cold winter night, we often roasted smoky links, drank hot chocolate, and had other treats.
