Jerry, Little League

Growing up, we invited any neighbors and friends available and played baseball in our field, most afternoons, for most of the afternoon.

Mom was a ball player growing up: baseball, basketball, and sports queen at Colorado Women's College. We grew up with the Cubs WGN radio network every afternoon and the Bears WGN radio network during Sunday dinner. Not surprising that we got hooked early. Neighborhood baseball every afternoon in our field. Little League. High School football and baseball. College soccer and football. And then there was the time we three boys bought her a basketball goal and ball for her birthday and Christmas. . . And she thought that grand.

Slow Pitch Softball

For a few years, we three had fun playing on the same softball team. In one memorable game, each of us hit a home run: Jerry's and Mike's "over the fence." Steve's "inside the park."
