The writing is likely that of Abram Hey, Martin's grandson, through whom the wallet was passed to heirs.
The riddle was found in the wallet. The paper is very old and brittle. Was the riddle Martin's? If so, he apparently had an agile mind to enjoy mentally rigorous entertainment.
