Land Title Deed of John Dean, 200 acres,
White County, Tennessee, August 26, 1807


Translation of title deed:

To all to whom these present shall come, greetings:
Know ye, that by virtue of part of warrant no. 1119 dated the 10th day of July 1784 paid to John Nelson by John Armstrong entry officer of claims of the North Carolina western lands and entered in the 26th day of August 1807 by no 87

There is granted by the said state of Tennessee, unto John Dean apynce of the said John Nelson

A certain tract or parcel of land, containing two hundred acres lying in White County in the second district ninth range and fourth section on the waters of Elk River beginning at a red oak running thence west one hundred and seventy eight poles and nine tenths to a red oak thence south one hundred and seventy eight poles and nine tenths to a post oak thence east one hundred and seventy eight poles and nine tenths to a red oak thence north to the beginning including his preference claim surveyed September 10th 1807.

With the appurtenances; to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land, with its appurtenances, to the said John Dean and his heirs forever: in witness whereof, John Sevier governor of the state of Tennessee, hath hereunto set his hand, and caused the great seal of the state to be affixed at Knoxville on the twentieth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eight and of the independance of the United States the thirty second
