Grandma Johnson with Billy

(from a lengthy 1935 letter, from Zwaantje to daughter Ruth, recollecting many past days) "Ma-Pa-Mart arrived one May day from Iowa. You--Daddy met them at the train with our 2 seated buggy--Prince and Daisy... Ma had a pocket in her dress--she put her teeth in her pocket, sat down and crack went something. She jumped up. Thought the chair had broken. Mart said where are your teeth? Here she had them all smashed. So they hurried to tell Pa. He smiled. $40.00 gone. False teeth always gagged Ma. She had 3 sets they told me."

Grandma, Grandpa, Baby Lu(?)
(Back of Photo)
"Mama - Papa - Johnson & Baby Lu. Father went home the following Feb 26, 21. Mother followed Mar 12, 22. So one by one we will all gather together up there again." (back of photo, Ginga's writing)

ID on above photo: "I don't think I ever met Aunt Jenny, but Aunt Hennie visited in our home in the late 1930s and I remember her well. I think baby Lu was Aunt Jenny's baby. I think Aunt Jenny was married to Lou Heilmann." (comment by Janna Hey Dean, great granddaughter)
