Vegter-Tschetter Heritage

Cookout with Uncle Toby's Family
Kathy was working at Skrudland's in Lake Geneva. One of her first "storebought" outfits.

Dianna's, Emerald Grove

Dianna and Daryl remodeled a one-room school house. The oldest daughter married with a big house and big yard. Natural gathering place for cookouts and get-togethers.

Cousins: Darla, Sharon, Daron
Dianna and Sharon were 20 years apart. So Mom's youngest (Sharon) and Dianna's oldest (Darla) are the same age.

At dinner Kathy had the following conversation
with Dr. Cedarholm:

"Kathy, are you coming to Maranatha to college this fall?"

"No, Dr. Cedarholm, I'm going to Florida with my family."

"Kathy, why don't you come to Maranatha to school?"

"I can't, Dr. Cedarholm, I don't even have my application in yet, and school's only weeks away."

"Kathy, that's no problem. You just send in your application. Plenty of time."

And Kathy's destiny was decided. Just like that. She wanted to go to Florida with her family to whom she was deeply loyal. And 12 weeks later she met Steve in Watertown.
