All married except Rena, the Dean sisters lined up at the end of the barn where they kept maize to feed the horses for the winter.

"I remember going to Hebron Church in a wagon. Daddy sometimes led the song service. We had a small leaflet that had a short Bible story and verses. Our parents read them to us. We did not often have Bible study or prayer though many times we did say grace at meals." (Pauleen, remembering family life)
