Early Cabin Days:
How we came to own a cabin in northern Wisconsin: Grandpa Hey passed away October 9, 1967. Uncle Phil moved to La Crosse that year to become head basketball coach at UW La Crosse. Grandma Hey often visited him. They bought lots on Lake Haugen, east of Gordon, Wisconsin.
On one early trek north, Uncle Phil and Steve built the road to the lakefront. In 1971, Grandma had a cabin built. And we've enjoyed it ever since.
