Dean-Hey Heritage

Birthplace of Abram Hey, northeast corner of Freeport and Capp Roads, north of Sterling

Grandpa Abram Hey was born in this house on the northeast corner of Freeport and Capp Roads, north of Sterling. The house was demolished in 1920 by the Wade family to make way for the building of the brick home which now stands on that corner. The oldest Hey children (Mary, Clement, Abram, and Henry) were born in this house. The youngest, Ira and Verna, were born across Freeport Road on another farm, also owned by their father, John Phillip Hey.
