Dean-Hey Heritage

original garage doors.
Dad put in a new garage door even before he finally extended the garage and added the automatic garage door opener.

Geer, the ice man, still made his rounds when I was young. We'd be happy to get his ice chips. He delivered coal in the winter. We set up a pop stand on First Avenue and LeFevre Road. We bought a couple cases of mixed pop from Middleton's Coca Cola Company on 3rd Avenue. We also sold ice cream out of the house; we'd run in and make the cone. The mail man, who made twice a day deliveries, usually bought a soda. [Mom (Ruth Hey) bought me supplies to do needlepoint while waiting on customers. Jan Hey] The rag man came from the west along Locust Street in his horse drawn wagon. (recollections by Phil Hey)
