"I remember Dad telling how Ira was so mad at him that he chased Dad around the dining room table with a butcher knife, and Dad was laughing so hard he could barely keep ahead of him." Dad also told of the two of them (Abram and Ira) living in St. Louis with his dad when he was about 13. He worked as an errand boy for a jeweler there and occasionally met Frank James (Jesse's brother) in the shop."

"When Uncle Ira was killed in an auto accident in Alabama in 1932, Dad (Abram Hey) had to go down and bring the body back along with Aunt Carmal."
