Grandpa Hey taught himself to play cornet, and played in the Knights Templars. Once at the dairy, nephew Dean Hey gave Grandpa Hey a recording that he said was just terrific: "I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles." Grandpa said, "Not so sure." (recollection by Phil Hey)

I asked Phil Hey (grandson of Henry, brother of Abram) for any stories regarding my Grandpa Abram. Phil writes, "I remember also that he [Abram] gave his fine old Conn cornet to my brother Jerry, who justified the gift by going on to become one of the best trumpet players in the world. If you Google "Jerry Hey," you can spend lots of time reading the list of recordings he's on."
